I just wanted to say hi and what a great board this is. My daughter and I have had fun reading it over the last week or so. My daughter is 11 and finally really starting to like the AG dolls and stories. She has read several of the books (after I constantly recommended them to her) over the last couple years but has never had to much of an interest. After seeing the Felicity movie, she was sold. We visted AGPNY last Christmas where she bought an American Girl Today doll, and some accessories. For the most part the doll has sat on a shelf until the Felicity movie came out. For some reason she didn't even really like the Samantha movie to much. This Christmas we added Felicity and Elizabeth to our collection. Our next doll will be Jess. Since that's my daughters name and they look alike. How exciting is that?! We are anxiously awaiting AGPLA to open, since it's in driving distance for us.

I'm a childless, adult collector, and in one year I've gotten *7* AGs. They are that addicting! Each of the historical girls have a great collection, it's so hard to stick to just one. And now I'm viewing the Girls of Today as dolls to make into International themed dolls. Plus I've got all but one of the Girls of Many Lands. Be prepared to be a Goner! [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

My daughter has the American Girl Today #17. She went into AGPNY saying she wanted a doll that looked like her. But instead of brown eyes, she wanted blue eyes. She wishes her eyes stayed blue and didn't turn brown. (she was born with blue eyes, that darkened slowly to brown by the time she was a couple months old) Anyhow..she had to have a blue eyed doll, then she was looking for a doll with her hair color, none of them were quite right. She ended up with the doll that says it's red hair, because she thought that was the closest to her hair color. Now I don't say that is red hair, to me it looks brown with some red type highlights. Everyone has their own perception, right? I could be way off on the hair color thing. Anyways, the #17 doll looks more like I do, than my daughter. That's one reason we are happy with Jess, she seems to have more of my daughters hair color. The light brown hair has to many blonde highlights, not my daughter at all. The black hair is way to dark. To get the dark brown hair, the skin coloring darkens, and my daughter has lighter skin. Sorry, I am so long winded. lol. Anyhow, she ended up with #17 that doesn't really look like her, but she loved that doll. And now it looks like by getting Jess, she will have the doll that looks like her.

Although I am only a *kid* still, I have only this year (since joining this board [img]wink.gif[/img] ) been REALLY interested in AG, and have just recently become very interested in acquiring some PM dollies [img]smile.gif[/img] . This year I got *3* dollies [img]eek.gif[/img] !
